Assigning Controls
From the launch screen, select Settings.
Select the Axes tab to assign the steering, throttle and thruster controls. Click the image to see how the controls are assigned.
Put checks in the boxes for X Axis, Y Axis, Z Axis, Z Rotation, Slider, and POV/hat. Select the VSF component from the pull down menu for each control. Check the reverse boxes where indicated for X Axis and Z Axis.
Attach the tiller control and put the ShipDriver in Tiller Mode (7th blue button, top row).
Check the control sensitivity by moving each control on the ShipDriver over its full range and watching the value on the Axes window. Adjust the sensitivity slider until the control covers the entire range.
Assigning Buttons and Switches
Select the Buttons tab to assign the helm switches and blue buttons.
Select the control in the list and press the switch or button on the ShipDriver to assign it. Note that the top row of blue buttons on the ShipDriver are keyboard messages which have functions in VSF but are not assignable.
These settings can also be changed during the simulation by selecting the Joystick option from the Options Menu.
